RE: Call for Proposals for Workshops for the OCSE 19th National Child Support Enforcement Training Conference

Dear Colleague:

I am pleased to announce that OCSE is accepting workshop proposals for the 19th National Child Support Enforcement Training Conference. The conference is scheduled for November 2-4, 2009, at the Renaissance Washington Hotel located at 9th Street, NW, in downtown Washington, D.C. This year’s theme is Dollars and Sense: Child Support in a Changing Economy.

The economy - its effects on the child support program and our efforts to address it - will be our main focus. The new FY2010-FY2014 Strategic Plan is expected to be out around that time and will also be a focus. However, we encourage a variety of submissions. We are looking for new, creative and innovative workshop ideas and best practices across the spectrum.

Theme-related topics might include:

Topics should also cover skill building for caseworkers and supervisors, training for trainers and subject matter experts, and training for top management through a wide range of topics such as:

Proposals must be submitted no later than May 1, 2009. See the attachments for details needed to complete your proposal.

Please submit your proposal via e-mail to our Conference Chair at Kimberly.MitchellHarley@acf.hhs.gov. You will be notified of the committee's determination concerning your proposal before May 29, 2009. Be creative with your workshop titles and proposals! They should reflect the conference theme.

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the 19th National Child Support Enforcement Training Conference. If you need additional information, contact Kimberly Mitchell-Harley at (202) 205-3496 or email Kimberly.MitchellHarley@acf.hhs.gov.

Sincerely,

Donna J. Bonar
Acting Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
