This work is important, because whether it's a secular group advising families facing foreclosure or faith-based groups providing job training to those who need work, few are closer to what's happening on our streets and in our neighborhoods than these organizations. People trust them. Communities rely on them. And we will help them.

Welcome
Welcome to the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. The Office works to improve the ability of faith based and community organizations (FBCOs) to fully participate in Department funding programs, while upholding the Department’s mission of creating the conditions for economic growth and opportunity by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, competitiveness, and stewardship in the social service sector.
The Office aims to provide information and training to FBCOs, but does not make funding decisions. Those decisions are made through procedures established by each Department grant program, typically involving a competitive process. No grant money is set aside for faith based organizations. FBCOs compete on an equal basis with all other applicants for Department funds.
