Assistant Director D. Scott Dodrill holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters degree in Correctional Counseling and Guidance from West Virginia University. He began his BOP career as a Correctional Officer at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Memphis in 1978. He went on to hold positions of increasing responsibility at the Federal Prison Camp - Eglin, FCI Butner, FCI Tallahassee, FCI Marianna, and the Southeast Regional Office, before serving as Associate Warden at FCI Ashland from 1994-95 and at FCI Beckley from 1995-97.

From 1997-99, Mr. Dodrill served as Correctional Services Administrator in the Correctional Programs Division, Central Office. In 1999, he was named Warden at FCI Butner and, in 2002, was named Warden at USP Lewisburg. Mr. Dodrill was named Regional Director for the Northeast Region in 2003, and was named to his current position in June 2009.
