Supporting National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day
Sunday, December 21, 2008
The National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day helps bring attention to the tragedy of homelessness and remembers our friends who were homeless and who have paid the ultimate price. In 2007, more than 90 cities conducted Memorial Day events on or around December 21.
We hope to feature as many events as we can to show that the homelessness community stands together to remember those who have died without homes, and often, without recognition.
SAMHSA's Homelessness Resource Center (HRC) wants to hear about Homeless Persons' Memorial Day plans in your community. Send an email to generalinquiry@homelessnessandtrauma.com to tell us about upcoming events or to share summaries and photos of events in your area. You can also log in to the HRC Web site and immediately share information by commenting on this article.
