Request for Applications (RFA) No. SM-08-013
Posting on Grants.gov: January 16, 2008
Receipt Date: May 30, 2008
Announcement Type: Initial

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announces the availability of funds to expand/enhance grant activities funded under the State Mental Health Data Infrastructure Grants (DIG) for Quality Improvement. The purpose of this program supplement is to support mental health prevalence estimation and related associations in state populations.

The effort is part of the SAMHSA/CDC Intra-Agency Agreement, in which the Mental Health and Stigma Module will be added to the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) for prevalence estimation of serious psychological distress. The DIG supplement will support state mental health agencies to coordinate and partner with respective state public health agency contacts to implement the BRFSS.

DIG grantees will provide coordination, state data analyses, and information dissemination activities that can assist in state program development.
