Suicide Prevention Services Supported by SAMHSA

• The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) provides prevention support, training, and information resources. Through 877-GET-SPRC (438-7772) and info@sprc.org, visitors can consult with prevention specialists. Visit the SPRC at www.sprc.org.
• The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national, 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to all those in suicidal crisis who are seeking help. Individuals seeking help can dial 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Learn more about the Lifeline at: www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org.

New Collaborations on Suicide Prevention

• Lifeline is working with the American Academy for Emergency Psychiatrists (AAEP) on increasing awareness about suicide prevention, training AAEP members, building skills of Lifeline counselors on how to reach those who have attempted suicide, and examining the role of crisis centers in emergency psychiatric care.
• The Emergency Nurses Association also is working with Lifeline to educate its members and to distribute suicide prevention materials in emergency rooms.

• Share publications with primary care physicians and pediatricians.
• Include mention of National Suicide Prevention Month in your organization's or community newsletter.
