Depot plates may be issued to any licensed motor vehicle dealer for road testing authorized vehicles or for moving vehicles for purposes of repairing, painting, upholstering, polishing and related activities. Plates can only be used on licensed dealer’s vehicles, which are being transported to and from the dealer’s place of business or storage.
Any person, partnership or corporation doing work for any dealer involving the repairing, painting, upholstering, polishing or the performing of similar types of work is qualified. Plates can only be used on licensed dealer vehicles, which are being transported to and from the dealer’s place of business or storage to your shop and back.
Depot Plates must be purchased at the Motor Vehicle Registration Section at 1881 Pierce Street, Lakewood, CO 80214
Depot Plates are issued on a calendar year cycle and expire on December 31st each year. Fee is $5.00 per plate regardless of the month plates are requested. Payable upon application.
Depot plates cannot be permanently affixed/bolted to any vehicle.
Law strictly prohibits the use of any such plate for private or personal purposes.

NOTE:  There is no ownership or sales tax collected on Depot Tags
