The Colorado Charitable Solicitations Act (Title 6, Article 16, C.R.S.) requires charitable organizations that seek contributions from the public (with a few specific exceptions listed at 6-16-104(6)(a)-(c),C.R.S.) to register and provide general identifying information about themselves and to file annual financial reports. Paid solicitors, who solicit contributions on behalf of charitable organizations, must provide general identifying information about their businesses and file solicitation notices and solicitation campaign financial reports for each campaign they conduct. Professional fundraising consultants, who plan and manage charitable fundraising campaigns, also register if they have custody or control of contributions, but they are not required to file solicitation notices with the Secretary of State.
