About
The Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER) was established as a VA HSR&D national Resource Center in 2004. Located in Boston, CIDER provides a critical conduit for the dissemination of health services research and provides HSR&D with dissemination support through a variety of channels.
Mission
As with all VA centers, CIDER's mission is to improve the health and healthcare of our veterans. By distributing important HSR&D findings to policy makers, clinicians, researchers, managers, and the general public, CIDER plays a pivotal role in supporting implementation of evidence-based research throughout VA. Our educational offerings (cyber seminars, annual meetings) provide the VA HSR&D community with regular opportunities to enhance health services research and to improve the health and outcomes of veterans.
Goals
CIDER's goal is to support dissemination and encourage the use of research-based evidence in making policy and clinical practice decisions aimed at improving quality, patient care, and health outcomes.
