If you have any questions or concerns regarding these regulations for exporting animals or animal products to a foreign country, you should contact the APHIS-VS Area Office in the State from which the animals or products will be exported.


Austria - Summary of Requirements

Austria is a Member State of the European Union. Bilingual health certificates are available for some commodities/species (see below). If the bilingual certificate for that species or commodity is not listed below, please refer to the English version on the link to the European Union. It is the responsibility of the exporter to obtain a bilingual certificate if it is not listed below.

Pets

  • Dogs/Cats/Ferrets - Fillable bilingual export certificate for non-commercial - March 2009 (Word document 81kb)

Notice: Pet dogs, cats, and ferrets must be identified with either a clearly readable tattoo or a microchip.  The microchip must comply with ISO standard 11784 or 11785 Annex A, or the appropriate microchip reader must be provided along with the pet.  Annex A type microchips available in the United States include AKC/TROVAN, HOMEAGAIN and AVID EUROCHIP.
