Law Clerks Hiring Policies: One clerk is hired every other year for a two-year clerkship commencing late summer-early fall. Applicant must submit cover letter with detailed resume, undergraduate and law school transcripts, three letters of reference, and a writing sample which should be entirely the applicant's own work and should reflect the applicant's legal writing abilities. Law Review or other writing experience and a demonstrated interest in international trade law are considered in ranking applicants. Travel for Circuit and District Court work required. Next law clerk opening is for the term beginning September 2010 and ending August 2012. Judge Carman has completed the hiring process for the 2009-2011 term.
