In a December 2000 memorandum, the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L)) and the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) jointly established the Property and Equipment (P&E) Policy Office. The office is located in OUSD (AT&L) Acquisition Resources & Analysis (ARA) and is led by Mr. Steve Tkac, Acting Deputy Director for Property & Equipment Policy.

Program Budget Decision (PBD) 704 has changed the emphasis and direction of the OUSD (AT&L) ARA Property and Equipment Policy Office. The prominent task of this office now is property and equipment policy. As a result, we have created this new website that highlights DoD policies and initiatives related to accountability and accounting of property and equipment. Please bookmark this new website!
