A&T Participates in Acquisition Outreach
On May 19-20, the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) hosted the ninth annual Business Managers' Conference, "Managing the Future of DoD Acquisition," at Fort Belvoir, Va. The conference, which addressed the importance of acquisition reform to the public, Congress, suppliers, managers, and the defense acquisition workforce, was hosted by Dr. Nancy Spruill, Director of Acquisition Resources and Analysis. The more than 500 attendees included cost estimators, earned value managers, and financial managers from the DoD Acquisition Technology & Logistics workforce, as well as colleagues from other acquisition career fields and defense industry personnel.
The Hon. Jacques Gansler, former Undersecretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology & Logisitics), delivered the keynote address to the Business Managers' Conference and other speakers included DAU President Frank Anderson; the Hon. Sue Payton, former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition; Michael McCord, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Comptroller); Beth McGrath, Assistant Deputy Chief Management Officer and Performance Improvement Officer; and Michael Knollmann, Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Joint & Coalition Operations Support).
