NCCCP: Community access to the latest science

The pilot phase of the NCI Community Cancers Center Program (NCCCP) is testing the concept of a national network to expand cancer research and deliver the latest, most advanced cancer care to more Americans in their home communities.

  • Reduce cancer healthcare disparities
  • Explore standards for collecting and storing cancer research specimens
  • Link to national computer networks for conducting research and sharing results
  • More patients are being enrolled in clinical trials
  • Disparities are being addressed from screening through survivorship
  • All sites have adopted a key standard for quality research specimens
  • Joined ASCO’s electronic health records initiative
