Long Range Interceptor & Short Range Prosecutor

The boats will be used as transports to support mission activities, including law enforcement boarding teams and rescue and assistance (R&A) teams.

The Fast Response Cutter (FRC) will carry one SRP. The National Security Cutter (NSC) will carry three boats of either class, or in combination. Major cutters will be assigned an LRI, equipped with radar, data links and over-the-horizon navigation and communication equipment to operate as an interceptor.

Long Range Interceptor

There are three distinct mission profiles for the LRI, including: shipboard ready boat; over-the-horizon end-game support for airborne use of force; and over-the-horizon extension of cutter.
