Having A Productive Conversation
NCEH/ATSDR is working with RESOLVE, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the effective use of consensus building in public decision making. We are uniting a group of key environmental and public health leaders called the “Leadership Council” to help guide the project, which we expect will last 18 months. During this time, participants can share their ideas and feedback in the following ways:
Web-based forums
You will have chances to participate in the National Conversation on the Internet.
We plan to use Web-based forums, blogs, and other ways to keep you informed and to get your input.
Face-to-Face Public Meetings
We will use two kinds of face-to-face public meetings to share ideas and prioritize actions for the work groups and the Leadership Council to consider.
The larger meetings will offer many groups the chance to offer input, while the smaller meetings are for in-depth discussions in community settings.
Citizen conversation tool-kit
During the early phase of this project, we will invite interested members of the public to host their own conversations about public health and chemical exposures.
The tool-kit will provide a set of discussion questions and a method for sending ideas back to the National Conversation project team and work groups.
