City Clerk
The Albuquerque City Clerk serves the needs of the public by maintaining the official records of the City and by conducting City elections.
The Clerk and his staff are honored to assist citizens and our fellow public servants in all of their public records management and inspection needs.
Public Records
All public records are maintained following federal, state and local laws. All public records are open to the public for inspection through the City Clerk's office and Records Custodians located within each City Department.
A limited number of records are confidential for reasons of personal or public safety or as otherwise required by law.
Elections
City elections are your opportunity to affect the future of our City. The City Clerk's office is here to provide fair and impartial elections.
The City Clerk conducts City elections each odd numbered year. Special elections, as allowed by the City Charter, are conducted as necessary. The Mayor serves a four-year term, and the next Mayoral election is scheduled for October 6, 2009.
There are nine City Councilors serving four-year terms. There are nine council districts, with five odd numbered districts up for election in 2009, and the four even numbered districts in 2011.
