Building and Grounds Supreme Court

Mr. Yellman began his Federal career in the Executive Branch with the United States Postal Service.  He spent over 20-years as a facilities professional with extensive general management experience in positions with progressive responsibility, including management and supervisory authority over building operations, repair, and alteration projects.  He was responsible for the development and management of capital, expense, and operating budgets in support of the facilities repair and alteration programs.  Among his many responsibilities with the USPS, Mr. Yellman was project manager for the William F. Bolger Center for Leadership Development training and conference center located in Potomac, Maryland, and for the daily operation of the USPS Headquarters Building located at L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C.  In 2001, Mr. Yellman received the Facilities “Vice President’s Award” in recognition of exceptional performance.

Mr. Yellman joined the AOC team in August 2002 as the Supreme Court’s, Deputy Facility Manager.  During this tenure he served on the Source Selection Evaluation Board for both phases of the USSC Modernization Project and in 2004, Mr. Yellman assumed additional duties as Project Manager for the Supreme Court Modernization Project. 

In November, 2006, Mr. Yellman was promoted to Facility Manager, Supreme Court Building and Grounds.  He is responsible for the structural and mechanical care of the United States Supreme Court Building and Grounds, to include alterations, design, construction of new facilities and the supply of mechanical furnishings and equipment for the Building.

In addition to the Supreme Court Building, the AOC has statutory responsibilities for the Thurgood Marshal Federal Judiciary Building.  Mr. Yellman is responsible for the structural and mechanical care and maintenance of the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building and improvements, including the care and maintenance of the grounds of the Building, in the same manner and to the same extent as for the structural and mechanical care and maintenance of the Supreme Court Building.

An Alexandria, Virginia, native, Mr. Yellman is a licensed Journeyman Electrician and a Certified Thermographer who now resides with his wife and two children in Lorton.
