The North Pacific Groundfish Observer Program maintains a field office in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The office is rented through the General Services Administration in a private building which also contains offices for NMFS Enforcement, the Sustainable Fisheries Division of the NMFS Alaska Regional Office, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The Observer Program office is staffed by one individual.  Support staff are sent to Dutch Harbor from Anchorage or Seattle when there is high activity in the Bering Sea fisheries.
