The design of the NIAID Web site is changing to serve you better! NIAID will launch a new home page in the summer of 2009. Five main sections of the site have been updated and reorganized, and we've added new features and functionality. We've also modified the branding and have designed for a wider screen size.
The updated sections are: Health & Research A to Z, Labs & Scientific Resources, Funding, About NIAID and News & Events. The redesign implements changes that improve the usability and accessibility of our site.
The image below describes the various sections and features of the redesigned NIAID home page.

NIAID Logo - Home Link
The NIAID logo always takes you back to the home page. The NIAID Home tab that appears on all pages (other than the home page) and the Home link in the footer also return you to the home page. |

The search function appears in the upper right-hand corner of all pages. It allows you to search the entire NIAID Web site using key words. |

Advanced Search
The Advanced Search link is located in the upper right-hand corner of all pages, just below the Search button. Advanced search provides advanced search functions, such as the ability to narrow results based on various criteria. |

Health & Research A to Z
Health & Research A to Z contains topic-specific information for NIAID Health and Research topics. Information on understanding a topic and information on the research NIAID is doing related to the topic is available in this section.
Some of the most popular topics are listed on the home page, and all topics can be accessed by selecting the Health & Research A to Z tab or from the All A to Z Topics link at the bottom of the list. Health and Research topics can be accessed from all pages on the site from the Health & Research A to Z tab in the top navigation. |

Labs & Scientific Resources
The Labs & Scientific Resources section provides information about NIAID's laboratories and scientists; resources for researchers; and technologies developed by NIAID. This topic can be accessed by selecting the Labs & Scientific Resources tab on the home page or from the top navigation tab on each page of the site. |

The Funding section provides timely information about funding, policy, and other topics that are of primary interest to NIAID's extramural research community. This topic can be accessed by selecting the Funding tab on the home page or from the top navigation tab on each page of the site . |

Volunteer for Clinical Studies
The Volunteer button appears on pages throughout the Web site. It links to opportunities for healthy people to participate in clinical studies that evaluate vaccines and other forms of treatment or prevention against diseases such as HIV/AIDS, ebola, and flu. |

Web Site Tools
The Web site tools contain functional features and services that are available throughout the NIAID site. Examples of NIAID Web site tools include RSS, social bookmarking, e-mail subscriptions, access to plug-ins and viewers, email this page and print this page. |
