Strategic Sourcing Working Group Documents

The Strategic Sourcing Working Group (SSWG) was chartered by the Chief Acquisition Officer's Council (CAOC) to serve as a working group to facilitate collaboration on strategic sourcing across the federal government to drive savings and process improvements and achieve increased socio-economic participation. The SSWG is also responsible for building the future vision and recommending the activities necessary to develop the skills, processes and enabling technology to fully realize the potential of strategic sourcing.

The objective of the SSWG is to serve as a working group under the CAOC to facilitate collaboration on Governmentwide strategic sourcing efforts and to build the future vision which promotes the potential of strategic sourcing. Specific objectives include:

  • Share good practices and build the strategic sourcing community of practice (people, process and technology)
  • Learn lessons applicable to future strategic sourcing efforts at federal or agency levels
  • Avoid unnecessary agency duplication of effort in pursuing OFFP Strategic Sourcing Initiative
  • Test ability to strategically source across federal agencies
  • Establish mechanisms to increase savings, value, and socio-economic participation
  • Build a future vision and path forward
