Child Support Enforcement

Description

The Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program , established in 1975 as Title IV-D of the Social Security Act, is a Federal, State, Tribal, and local partnership to ensure that children have the financial support of both their parents, foster responsible behavior towards children, emphasize that children need to have both parents involved in their lives , and reduce welfare costs. The mission of the CSE Program is to enhance the well-being of children by assuring that assistance in obtaining financial and medical support is available to children through locating parents, establishing paternity, establishing support obligations, and monitoring and enforcing those obligations.
