Director, Office of Public Affairs


Jeffrey S. Kelley is Director of the Office of Public Affairs in the Administration for Children and Families.  OPA develops and coordinates the dissemination of information on ACF programs and initiatives, responds to all media requests, coordinates interviews for the Assistant Secretary and relevant ACF officials, and provides printing and distribution services.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Kelley was the owner of Peer Communications LLC, a consulting group that organized conferences for senior public relations executives at Fortune 500 companies.  For most of his career, he worked in the public affairs area for the DuPont company, including 13 years as Director of Public and Government Affairs in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region.  During the Carter Administration, Mr. Kelley served as Special Assistant (speechwriter) to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Patricia Roberts Harris and earlier as press secretary for U.S. Senator Thomas J. McIntyre (D-N.H.).

Mr. Kelley is graduate of Dartmouth College and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern.
