To better resolve complaints at the lowest level, all Coast Guard employees
are trained in legislation and procedures dealing with civil rights. Increased
awareness can resolve disputes before they become formal complaints.

Mandatory training for Coast Guard Employees includes Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation (No FEAR) Act, Sexual Harassment Prevention, and Human Relations Awareness training. All required training is hosted on the Learning Portal.
