Veterans Affairs

I am committed to supporting the men and women who have so ably served this country.  It is important that we establish new programs and build on existing ones to provide a seamless transition from active duty to civilian life for our veterans.

I will continue to work to make the VA a leader of national health care, so that veterans get the best care possible.  I will push for increased care in vision impairment, prosthetics, spinal cord injury, aging, and women's health.  I also support the establishment of standards of care for Traumatic Brain Injury, and providing more counseling for vets and their families.

It is appalling that so many of our nation's veterans fall through the cracks without getting the services they need to be healthy and prosperous.  I have worked with local and federal groups to combat homelessness among our veterans, while also providing educational opportunities to fight unemployment.

Supporting our nation's veterans has long been a high priority of mine, and I will continue to work for those who have given so much to protect our great nation.
