Services for Researchers

Animal Models for Hepatitis B and C

Prioritization and Approval Process

Requests are prioritized and approved by the Project Officers, who seek the advice of ad hoc experts as needed according to the following criteria:

  • The likelihood that services will contribute significantly to the eventual development and/or evaluation of a product of high priority.
  • Public health impact within the scope of the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases’ (DMID) responsibilities.
  • Innovation; i.e., the aspects of the product that will achieve what current control measures are not able to, that will improve the capability of existing control measures or that will result in a product that is as useful or better than existing control measures.
  • Previous use of DMID resources for assessment of the same or similar product. Repeat use of DMID resources may be undertaken with strong justification.
  • Need for this support beyond availability of support from other sources.
  • Competing priorities/availability of contract resources.
