"Children at Risk" Helps Younger Students Grasp Basics of Legal System
|

|
Legal professionals and educators are reporting great success with a video-based educational program intended to introduce younger students to the basics of the American judicial system.
“Children at Risk” is designed for use by judges, attorneys, and teachers to explain legal concepts and trial procedures to elementary school students, primarily fourth- and fifth-graders. Program materials, which include a DVD or videotape and written manual with suggestions on how to make effective classroom presentations, are available free through the Ninth Circuit Office of the Circuit Executive.

"Courts to Classes" is the Federal Judiciary's educational outreach program, designed to assist educators in teaching about the federal court system in ways that are consistent with law-related education practices and relevant social studies standards.
