The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is the nation's oldest and largest student organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. Established in 1964 by Howard University College of Medicine students and Meharry Medical college students, the SNMA boasts over 30 years of service to under-served communities and the medical student community. An SNMA chapter exists at the USU Medical School. Our program is designed, like others around the nation, to serve the health needs of under-represented communities. The goal is to educate people about important health matters to ensure that medical education and services are culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse populations. The USU SNMA chapter assists students with enrollment and successful matriculation in the U.S. Medical Schools.
