Announcement
- VA Manual MP-2, Subchapter G, Parts 108-38, Transportation and Motor
Vehicles and 108-39, Interagency Motor Vehicle Pools, will remain in effect
until new policies and procedures are published by Veterans Health Administration
(VHA).
- Pursuant to Subtitle C, Title XV of Public Law 99-272, concerning
Federal Motor Vehicle Expenditure Control, the VA Administrator, in October,
1988, designated motor vehicle management responsibilities to the Director,
Office of Facilities (currently the Director, Engineering Management and
Field Support Office (10NB)), VHA. This designation empowered that office
to initiate and enforce policies, directives, and other controls necessary
to ensure effective motor vehicle management within VA. Therefore, in accordance
with the designation, policy and guidance for motor vehicle management will
no longer be administered by the Office of Acquisition and Materiel Management.
- Policies and procedures are currently being updated in accordance
with the VA Directives Management System.
- RESCISSION: This notice is rescinded July 30, 1996;
but MP-2 coverage of motor vehicle management will remain in effect until
the new policies and procedures are published.
