NOTE: As part of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit's transition to the Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, the Court has adopted an Administrative Order Regarding Electronic Filing in All Ninth Circuit Cases which supercedes some of the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure and 9th Circuit Rules. The Administrative Order contains rules explaining which documents can and cannot be filed electronically in this Court, and the procedure for electronic filing.

Effective January 2, 2009, use of the CM/ECF system will be mandatory for all attorneys and all court reporters filing in this Court, unless they are granted an exemption from using the CM/ECF system. Use of the CM/ECF system is voluntary for pro se parties proceeding without counsel. All information regarding CM/ECF can be found on the Electronic Case Filing page.
