This slide contains pictures of the Forging Industry Association’s (FIA) Safety Tips Sheets and OSHA’s Cooperative Programs Brochure developed by FIA.

FIA completed its development of a series of Safety Tips Sheets with input from OSHA. The Tips Sheets were developed for employers and employees working in the Forging Industry and are posted and linked to from the association’s and OSHA and FIA’s Web site:

    • Safety Tips Sheet No. 1: Help Prevent Eye Injuries Tips Sheet. Through the OSHA and FIA Alliance, FIA developed the "Help Prevent Eye Injuries" tip sheet that identifies activities and tasks in the forging industry that may cause an eye injury and provides tips on how to help prevent eye injuries.

    • Safety Tips Sheet No. 2: Help Prevent Hand Lacerations Tips Sheet. Through the OSHA an FIA Alliance, FIA developed the "Help Prevent Hand Lacerations," tip sheet that addresses reducing the risk of a hand laceration in the forging industry and provides first-aid tips in case there is a laceration at the worksite.

    • Safety Tips Sheet No. 3: Reduce the Risk of Back Injuries Tips Sheet. Through the OSHA and FIA Alliance, FIA developed the "Reduce the Risk of Back Injuries" tip sheet that provides tips on reducing the risk of back injuries.

    • OSHA Cooperative Programs. Through the OSHA and FIA Alliance, FIA developed the OSHA Cooperative Programs brochure that discusses the agency’s On-site Consultation, Strategic Partnerships and Voluntary Protection Programs.
In addition, the Safety Tips Sheets have been featured in numerous online and print publications.
