Bone and Cartilage Tumors

Neutron therapy is appropriate for the following histologies:

  • Osteogenic sarcoma
  • Ewing's sarcoma
  • Malignant giant cell tumors
  • Fibrosarcoma of bone
  • Chondrosarcoma
Patients who may benefit from neutron therapy include:
  • Patients who want to avoid the surgical option of amputation.
  • Newly diagnosed patients with unresectable (inoperable) disease, or residual disease following surgery (positive margins).
  • Patients whose disease has recurred after surgery.
  • Patients with bone metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, or sarcoma
