Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy by the Fermi Research Alliance (FRA). Fermilab's Neutron Therapy Facility is possible because of a unique partnership between URA and Northern Illinois University (NIU). Fermilab operates the linear accelerator that produces the clinical neutron beam. NIU provides clinical staff needed to treat patients. The board-certified, licensed radiation oncologists who practice at the facility include Kurubarahalli Saroja, M.D. and Ramananda Shetty, M.D..
