Mrs. Susan M. Hildner is currently serving as Deputy Director, Contract Policy and International Contracting, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition Technology & Logistics).

She entered the Department of Defense procurement and contracting field as a Contract Specialist intern at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), in Arlington, VA in 1980, where she worked until coming to OSD in October 1995. Her last assignment at NAVAIR was as a contracting officer leading a team of ten specialists engaged in the procurement of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, including Predator, Hunter, Pioneer, Pointer and Medium Range.

Since coming to OSD, Mrs. Hildner has worked in the international contracting policy area, focusing on Reciprocal Procurement Memoranda of Understanding, Buy American, Trade Agreements and other international procurement policy and defense trade issues. She has also served as Acting Deputy Director, Program Acquisition and International Contracting focused on Major Development Acquisition Programs and Major Automated Information Systems Programs and acquisition policy issues associated with those programs.

Mrs. Hildner has been awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and two Special Act Awards by the Navy. Mrs. Hildner resides in Fairfax, VA with her husband, retired Air Force Colonel Bob Hildner.
