NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY SEPT 26 -

LORTON, VA - Sep 25-26, Meadowood Farm, 10406 Gunston Rd, Lorton, VA 22079.   Directions:  I-95 south from Washington, exit 163 east on Lorton Rd to Route 1 south (right).   Go one mile south to Gunston Rd east (left), Meadowood is about 2 miles on the left.    I-95 north from Richmond, take exit 161 to Route 1 north, go about one mile on Rt 1.   Turn east (right) on Gunston Rd., Meadowood is about 2 miles on the left.   800 370-3936

CREAM RIDGE, NJ - Sep 26, Rick’s Saddle Shop, 282 Route 539, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514.   Ten gentled horses will be available on a first come - first serve basis.   800 293-1781.

PINEY WOODS, MS - Piney Woods School.  Directions:  From I-20 take Highway 49 South for approximately 25 miles to Piney Woods, MS. When approaching Piney Woods School merge to the left lane (at the turn locate a green and white sign) which say Piney Woods School. Turn left and proceed across the north bound traffic of Highway 49. Upon entering the grounds, must stop at the security station, and be directed down the gravel road to the facility which is located 1/4 of mile on the left.  888 274-2133.

MEQUON, WI - BLM Holding Facility at Mequon, 6814 W. Highland Rd, Mequon, WI  53092.  Directions:  From Hwy 43, take Exit 85 (Mequon Rd/Route 167), travel west to the first traffic light (Port Washington Rd), turn north. Travel approx. 1 mile to the first 4-way stop, turn west onto Highland Rd. Proceed on Highland Rd for several miles through a 4-way stop (Green Bay Rd), and a traffic light (Cedarburg Rd). After crossing railroad tracks, entrance to the facility is first driveway on north side.  800 293-1781

EWING, IL BLM Holding Facility. 22295 Sheep Farm Rd, Ewing, IL 62836 (20 miles south of Mt. Vernon, IL). 800 370-3936, FAX: 703 440-1656.     Please have your servicing office approve your application before you arrive at the facility for all days except advertised adoption dates.   A BLM representative will be on site Sep 11-12 to approve walk up adopters.

Facility is open to the public Mon - Fri, 9 am to 3 pm, and Sat 9 - Noon. Applications to adopt must be approved in advance by a BLM official. From Interstate 57, take exit 77 and turn East when you exit the Interstate towards SR 37. Turn north (left) on State Route 37 and go 1 mile, turn east (right) on Ewing Rd. Go 5 miles past the town of Ewing, and turn north (left) onto Sheep Farm Rd., go 1-1/2 miles. The Facility is at the intersection of Sheep Farm Rd. and Bobtail Rd.
