National Anesthesia Service

New regulations took effect on June 15, 2009 and enable the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to relax income restrictions on enrollment for health benefits. While this new provision does not remove consideration of income, it does increase income thresholds. You may be eligible for enrollment under this new provision.  For more information on the change, follow this link http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/  or click the Priority 8 Calculator graphic above.

Anesthesia Service is part of Central Office's Medical-Surgical Services, a component of Patient Care Services. We are a decentralized Central Office function currently located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle, Washington.

The Anesthesia Service was created in 1994 to provide consultation and guidance in the form of policy and procedure for the anesthesiology services and sections in the medical centers of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).  Additionally, the Anesthesia Service provides consultation to VHA Central Office on all matters regarding the practice of anesthesia.  Anesthesia Service respects the necessity for local services and sections to create policies and procedures pertinent to their individual practice settings, while conforming to national policies.
