The Tourism Policy Council (TPC) is the interagency, Policy coordinating committee composed of the leaders of nine Federal agencies and the president of the U.S. National Tourism Organization (USNTO), who serves as a non-voting member. The Tourism Policy Coordination group serves as the Secretariat. The TPC members work cooperatively to ensure that the national interest in tourism is fully considered in federal decision-making affecting tourism development. The TPC coordinates national policies and programs relating to international travel and tourism, recreation, and national heritage resources which involve federal agencies. The Council seeks to work with the private sector and state and local governments on issues and problems that require Federal involvement. To bring an issue or problem to the attention of the TPC, contact the Secretariat at (202) 482-2404 (phone) or at (202) 482-2887 (fax). To provide access to travel and tourism data and information available through the Federal government, the TPC maintains the TPCNet.
