Shuttle Processing Note |
Preparations are
proceeding on schedule for the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 18. Engineers in
the Launch Control Center continue to monitor the Shuttle's systems with minimal work
required on the vehicle. Technicians will access the
aft compartment tonight to perform a routine continuity test on the orbiter's flash
evaporator system. Liquid propellant replenishment efforts are nearing completion with a
final wave of liquid hydrogen tankers arriving at Pad 39A today. The last liquid oxygen
delivery occurs tomorrow.
The seven-member flight crew returns to KSC Sunday at about
11:30 p.m., and the countdown clock begins at the T-43 hour mark on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
