If there is a general agreement in a specific agricultural industry that marketing of a product would be facilitated by the availability of a laboratory approval program for a specific analysis or set of analyses, the Branch will consider the implementation of an appropriate laboratory approval program. A recognized representative of the specific industry should contact S&T to initiate discussions.

TSB staff reviews U.S. Government procurement documents such as: Commercial Item Descriptions, Performance-based Contract Requirements, and other commodity specifications requested by Fruit and Vegetable Programs of AMS, the Food Engineering Services Team of DOD Combat Feeding Program, and other AMS Programs. This ensures that testing methods cited are proper for verifying the quality of food products.
