- 30 Something Democrats Pelosi's "30 Something" working group consists of the Democratic Members of the House of Representatives who are under the age of 40. These Members are committed to engaging the next generation of Americans further in government and the political process. "30 Something" Members seek to talk and listen to young Americans about the issues they care about and how Congress can better represent their opinions on those issues.
- African Americans House Democrats are working to create opportunities for African Americans to succeed and prosper at every level. Because of the vision of countless civil rights trailblazers, African Americans have overcome astonishing hardships and inequalities. Today, more African American families have joined the middle class, more African American young people are pursuing higher education and the number of businesses started by black entrepreneurs is increasing. But, there is much more work to be done to expand opportunity and equality to all Americans. House Democrats are committed to fighting for civil, social, and economic justice to bring a New Direction for African Americans.
- Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) are a critical part of our nation’s growth and success. With more than 14.4 million Americans that identify themselves with an Asian or Pacific Islander background, AAPIs are one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. Representing more than 16 ethnic backgrounds, speaking nine different languages, and belonging to a number of different religions and cultures, their diversity is the beauty and strength of our country.
- Democratic Women's Working Group The Democratic Women's Working Group continues to fight for policies that promote equality and opportunity for all women, from measures that create good jobs to initiatives on affordable healthcare and quality education.
- Hispanic Americans All Latinos deserve a real opportunity to achieve the American Dream, whether they have been here for generations or just arrived to our shores. House Democrats are working to promote the New Direction agenda that builds opportunity for all Americans, including millions of Latino families.
- LGBT Community The Democratic-led Congress is committed to protecting the rights of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. Unlike previous Republican-controlled Congresses, malicious measures intended to divide the American people or to undermine the rights of the LGBT community are off the table. Speaker Pelosi’s efforts include repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ ending discrimination against same-sex couples in federal immigration laws, and ensuring that fully-inclusive Hate Crimes Prevention and Employment Non-Discrimination Acts become law.
- Rural America Working with President Obama, the Democratic-led Congress is helping bring real opportunity to Rural America. America draws strength from Main Streets and family farms across this country, and it is a national priority to strengthen rural communities and give young people an opportunity and a reason to stay and help their hometowns prosper.
- Young Americans Young Americans have spoken out loudly and clearly about the need for a new direction in America. Whether you are headed to college, into the workforce, or becoming parents, young Americans are focused on the future.
