Pu`u `O`o activity is paused. There is no active lava visible anywhere on the flow field.
There is no new activity at the site of the June 18/19 eruption. The crack west of Kane Nui o Hamo continues to emit steam and fume. Seismic tremor levels are variable in this area; earthquake counts are between 1 and 10 per hour.
The summit area continues to inflate very slowly and the tremor levels continue to decline slowly. In the upper east rift zone, fewer than about 5 to 10 small earthquakes per hour are being recorded. Tremor levels in the Kane Nui o Hamo area remain relatively constant. Sulfur dioxide levels continue to decline.
A tiltmeter at Pu`u `O`o continues to show steady tilting inward toward the crater. During today's overflight the crater floor was estimated to have collapsed 100 m (300 feet).
HVO continues to monitor the situation closely.
