Could you please provide me with Nitrogen Oxides content/index in the atmosphere from year 1950 to year 2000? Please include the industrial contribution numbers as well. Or could you please direct me to another link to obtain the information?

The best place to look for NOx data and trends would probably be the EPA. They have a website devoted to just this issue, and chances are, you've probably already found this site:

http://www.epa.gov/airtrends/

Another useful link to an EPA site might be:

http://www.epa.gov/ttn/amtic/

Note that the data on NOx from the EPA seems to go back only to the early 1980's, not back 50 years like you want. I checked several reference books to see if I could find something going back further, and didn't find anything. The further you go back in time, the less likely it will be that you will find a lot of measurements. Thus, it will be harder to estimate an overall trend, e.g., for the country. The best one might hope to do would be to assemble data for a specific location, e.g., Los Angeles, for such a long period. I've found EPA Librarians to be particularly helpful over the years, and you might enlist one of them to help you.

There may be an article in the scientific literature (e.g., in Environmental Science and Technology, or Atmospheric Environment, for example) that contains historical data going back as far as you want it. To find such an article, you'd probably have to do a computerized literature search at your library.
