Masted ships grounded on shore.

Vessels ashore in Bayou La Batre, Alabama

A ground-level view of some of the larger vessels that our survey team saw from the air. Owners of vessels of this size and value typically have the resources to work with salvage contractors and develop salvage plans. A process has been established to have their salvage plans reviewed by "trustees." Trustees are those organizations in Government who have been assigned by law the responsibility of protecting specific natural resources for the American public. Notice the size of the vessel with 40-foot containers and cars. These shipments have been delayed.
