The Recovery Act Section 106 Training is an ACHP one-day course designed to familiarize those responsible for ensuring that environmental reviews are conducted for Recovery Act projects with the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

What will you learn? This offering will provide a brief overview of the Section 106 process while focusing on key terms and concepts. The course will acquaint participants with the fundamentals they need to understand the roles and responsibilities of Section 106 participants, reasonable and good faith efforts to identify historic properties, and consultation strategies to streamline reviews. Expanded discussions on archaeology, coordinating Section 106 with NEPA, and the role of applicants in compliance will highlight issues relevant to Recovery Act projects.

Who should attend? Federal agency staff applicants for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding, and state, tribal, and local officials with an interest in Section 106 and ARRA are encouraged to attend.

Course location and date - The Recovery Act course is a one-day course on July 22 and meets from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Faculty – All courses are taught by highly knowledgeable ACHP staff who have practical hands-on experience with Section 106 issues.

Cost – Payment can be made by credit card or check, or federal employees may submit an SF 182.
Registration = $295.00 (Includes light breakfast and afternoon break.)

CancellationsRegistrants cancelling at least 14 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund minus a 15% processing fee. Cancellations must be made in writing. No refunds will be given for cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the start of the course; however, substitutions with a qualified candidate may be made at no cost up until three days before the course begins.
