SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority to Sign the United States Certificate of Release of a Motor Vehicle (Standard Form No. 97)
By virtue of the authority vested in me by 5 U.S.C. 301 and Reorganization Plan No. 26 of 1950, I hereby delegate to the following officials of the Treasury authority to sign the United States Government Certificate of Release of a Motor Vehicle (Standard Form No. 97) for the transfer of the title, of a seized or forfeited motor vehicle, from the United States Government to a private purchaser:
Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
Commissioner of Customs
Commissioner of Internal Revenue
Director, U.S. Secret Service
The officials listed above are authorized to redelegate the authority to sign Certificates of Release to officials and employees under their supervision.
This Order supersedes Treasury Department Order No. 98 (Revision No. 1), dated January 12, 1951.
