Fall Internships

For college students interested in learning more about government, an internship in the office of Senator Warner offers students the opportunity to experience the legislative process firsthand while becoming an integral part of our office. Internships are available year round in the Washington, DC and Virginia offices.

An intern in Senator Warner's office will have to opportunity to gain valuable Senate experience. Each intern will be given a variety of tasks to support the Senator's staff. Such tasks include conducting legislative research, assisting with correspondence, attending hearings and briefings, monitoring media outlets for daily developments, and performing general administrative duties. Interns in state offices support office staff by working to address constituent concerns, performing legislative research, and assisting with special projects and events.

To apply for the Washington, DC or Virginia internship program, please complete the application form and submit it along with a cover letter, resume, a college transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, and a short writing sample. Internships are reserved for college sophomores, juniors and seniors, and preference will be given to candidates who reside in Virginia or attend school in-state.
