Education and outreach bridge the diverse, yet related, natural resource goals of many partners in conservation– federal, state, and local government agencies, non-government and private organizations, businesses, and others.

The Division of Education Outreach works with the other divisions within the FWS to provide support and consultation on education and outreach projects. From environmental and conservation education to interpretation and media outreach programs, the division helps assess, plan, evaluate, and develop education and outreach training, programs, and materials.

NCTC has helped initiate or support education and outreach programs that address migratory birds, wildlife trade, endangered species, wetlands, schoolyard habitat, urban wildlife, and others. NCTC coordinates the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Extension Program in partnership with USDA and the land grant university system.

Conservation education programs for national youth groups, including 4-H, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts of America are coordinated and receive technical assistance and support. View Program Support Activities and Special Projects.
