Third in the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Program, the "Professional Life" design is now available in two-roll sets. The reverse design depicts Abraham Lincoln as a young professional standing in front of the old state capitol building in Springfield, Ill. It includes the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and ONE CENT. This set is comprised of 100 coins—one roll of 50 coins minted at the United States Mint at Philadelphia (no mint mark) and one roll of 50 coins minted at the United States Mint at Denver ("D" mint mark).

This coin commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, inventor of the Braille system, which is used by the blind and sight-impaired to read and write. For the first time in history, a United States coin features readable Braille. Offered in silver, this coin is available in proof and uncirculated conditions. The obverse features a portrait of Louis Braille. The reverse shows a child reading a book in Braille with the word "Braille" (abbreviated BRL in Braille code) above him. The word INDEPENDENCE is featured on a bookshelf behind the child.
