ALDP Cohort VI     SUTL 12

The Challenge Course at NCTC includes a series of low rope elements designed to facilitate individuals and team s through various learning activities such as problem-solving, decision-making, and communication.  These activities are intended to enhance an individual’s self-awareness, to build trust and respect within the team, and to create the opportunity to have some fun!

The level of participation in a NCTC Challenge Course activity is at all times completely up to the individual’s choice.  Our policy regarding the individual's level of participation is outlined in the Challenge By Choice model below:

Challenge By Choice

  • Participants always have the right to choose when to participate and at a level that feels comfortable to him/her.

  • Participants are asked to add value to the experience at all times.
  • Participants are asked to respect and value the decisions of all group members.

When taking part in Challenge Course activities, safety is our primary concern.  Please wear sturdy shoes with closed-toes and closed-heels such as tennis shoes, hiking boots, etc.  Soft-sole shoes, such as sandals and Crocs, are not permitted.  Clothing should be comfortable and weather appropriate.  Please remove all jewelry prior to your Challenge Course activities.

In case of inclement weather, alternate activities of a similar nature to the Challenge Course may be conducted in the NCTC Gymnasium or other suitable space subject to availability.
