    Earthworks Workshop 2004
Earthworks is an innovative teachers’ program that includes field work and observations, problem-based learning, and practice with a variety of teaching and learning techniques. Earthworks is a one-week workshop that provides an opportunity for teachers to investigate Earth Systems Science at the local level through the interconnections between the geosphere, atmosphere, biosphere, and hydrosphere.

  • August 17-19, 2004
    MODIS Vegetation Workshop II
The MODIS Land team announces the second workshop on MODIS Vegetation variables, to be held at the University of Montana, in Missoula. The workshop will highlight the 4+ years of Terra MODIS data, and the Aqua MODIS data and other EOS vegetation data now available. The workshop will again focus on the vegetation variables; Vegetation Indices, LAI/FPAR, GPP/NPP but with relevant coverage of albedo, landcover and continuous fields, land surface temperature, evaporative index and fire anomalies. The latest information on reprocessings, data distribution and international validation activities will be presented. The workshop will also invite posters and presentations on new research findings with MODIS vegetation data, upcoming science applications and future continuity of these data in the NPOESS era. Registration, logistical details and a call for papers and posters will be forthcoming when the workshop Website is complete. The first MODIS Vegetation Workshop summary can be viewed at http://www.ntsg.umt.edu/MODISCon/index.html.
